In the 1880s and 1890s, Monet began painting "series" — paintings of one subject in varying light and viewpoints. His first series is of the Rouen Cathedral from different points of view and at different times of the day. He made during this period also a serie of more then 30 paintings of " Haystacks or Grainstacks". (1890-91) On different places on the web you can find images of these stacks, but you will almost nowhere find the whole collection. Our American counterpart Alan Ritch of www.hayinart.com collected them all, as far as we know! He has a collection of 46 haystacks and grainstacks or wheatstacks in his database of more than 5000 objects.

You can find information of Monet also on other places on the web as for example on the Webmuseum and the Internet Art Encyclopedia . The Boston museum has one of the greatest collections.
